Spiral/Wire-o Binding
This binding is what places like Kinkos provides. It is good for work books and cookbooks, anything that needs to lay completely flat.

You need a specific “machine”/hole punch to do this type of binding, so most people just go to their local printing shop (Kinkos). If you don’t like their color options you can order your own on line, just ask your printing shop the size and hole-ratio you need to order.

Binding Tips
Double check that all your sheets are facing the right way before you start adhering them to each other.
If you're folding your page, use a bone folder to ensure a tight fold.
Remember when compiling your page "guts" that nothing goes on the first page. Your first spread is your your end sheet. This is what adheres to the cover.
When trimming your book, if you are using an x-acto knife, always use a fresh blade.
Always use crop marks! Pre-trim your pages to the OUTSIDE of your crop marks, and if it’s your final you really should trim the pages one at a time.
Accordion Fold
This fold will create a book that will open up to look like a accordion. It is great for panoramic illustrations and can utilize both sides of the paper. It’s not a great choice for a more traditional two-page layout design.

Print out the long page by using a roll printer of attaching several pages together using tabs to create a very wide page.

French Fold
This is the best technique to use for a book that needs to lay flat and have double-sided pages.

Simply fold a piece of paper to create different surfaces that can act as pages. You can leave it folded, or bind the rough edge (non-folded) by using a wire-o or spiral bound.
